With Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau said to have agreed a new contract with Al Ahly, the stunning details of his new deal have reportedly been revealed, including a mouthwatering salary.

Various Egyptian outlets are now reporting that Ahly's board of directors have agreed to renew Tau's contract, which is currently due to expire in June this year.

According Almawq3.com, the South African is now set to remain in Cairo until 2028, with his new salary set to exceed $5 million (R96 million) over the duration of his stay since joining the club.

A source close to the club has reportedly revealed that the former Mamelodi Sundowns star will earn an annual salary of $1.2 million (R23 million), which will increase by $100 000 (R1.9 million) in the first season, $150 000 (R2.8 million) in the next, and $200 000 (R3.8 million) in the final year. 

Manager Marcel Koller is said to have endorsed Tau's renewal to the board as he feels the 29-year-old is a big part of his team.

Tau, who joined the Egyptian giants from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2021, is now approaching 100 appearances for Ahly, registering 24 goals and 13 assists along the way.
