Princesse Charlene becomes Honorary President of Pink Ribbon ...
Pink Ribbon Monaco has the pleasure to announce that Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene has endorsed the position of Honorary President of its organisation, cementing her commitment to women’s health and the fight against breast cancer with the Principality’s most prominent association dedicated to the cause. Princess Charlene’s commitment to her Foundation’s causes aligns seamlessly with the values of Pink Ribbon Monaco in matters of health, making her an ideal advocate for women’s health.
Princess Charlene’s role as Honorary President will be pivotal in advancing Pink Ribbon Monaco’s mission of raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research and prevention. This announcement carries even more weight at less than a few weeks away before the organisation’s highly anticipated fundraising gala and auction, set to take place at the illustrious Monte Carlo Casino. The evening aims to continue to raise funds supporting a local lobular breast cancer screening study led by Dr Hugonnet at the Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace.
Furthermore, the timing coincides with the much-loved 12th annual Pink Ribbon Monaco Walk at Port Hercules in partnership with the Monaco Run. This highly anticipated event, which will take place on Sunday, February 11th, continues to unite the community in a symbolic show of support for those affected by breast cancer.
Natasha Frost-Savio, President and Founder of Pink Ribbon Monaco, expressed her gratitude, stating, “HSH Princess Charlene’s involvement as our Honorary President adds immeasurable strength to our cause. We are honoured to have her support as we approach these significant events, and her commitment reinforces our wish to encourage critical research and support our local community.”
Launched in 2011, Pink Ribbon Monaco is the 1st association in the region to celebrate breast cancer awareness month and the only association entirely dedicated to this cause; furthermore, it is the instigator of lighting up buildings in pink during the first week of October in the Principality.
Led by founder and President Natasha Frost-Savio (Knight of the Order of Saint Charles), Pink Ribbon Monaco strives to promote early detection and awareness by organising events throughout the year. The Pink Ribbon Walk in February and our spectacular pink lights held every year in the first week of October have become our statement. We are unifying people with uplifting messages of support and promoting early screening, which saves lives.
As a member of the Committee for the Protection and Promotion of Women’s Rights in the Principality, Pink Ribbon Monaco is also committed to improving the equality of the sexes.
Working closely with the Princely government, the National Council, the Ministry of Health and Social Services and in partnership with the Princess Grace Hospital, Pink Ribbon Monaco has promoted awareness, health and togetherness for over a decade.
