Samantha Markle reacts to South Park's Harry and Meghan episode

Meghan Markle’s half sister, Samantha Markle, commented on the recent episode of ‘South Park’ titled ‘The Worldwide Privacy Tour’, which was an evident parody of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and their recent adventures following their exit from the royal family.

Samantha says the episode was “hysterical” and that even at a distance, the cartoon couple’s likeness to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle was brilliant in highlighting their handling of the media and their privacy.

“What I thought was so glaring and so brilliant about it is it’s true,” she told GB News. “I think the writers were very funny to say this is a Canadian princess. Clearly I don’t think they can claim a copyright on the likenesses, albeit distant, that are here.

“It’s just so arrogant in my opinion. Good luck with that in court. I don’t think it’ll fly. I don’t think that can win.”

On Monday, Harry and Meghan hit back at claims they were planning on suing the show, with a spokesperson calling the suggestions “baseless and boring.”

The host played Samantha Markle a clip from the episode where the “Canadian prince” proclaimed that what matters most is what’s on the inside, before opening his wife’s mouth wide and saying, “Hello!”, which echoes loudly to indicate that it is empty inside.

“I think the writers are saying that there’s a shallowness, there’s a hypocrisy and emptiness, and if they were so sincere about those things they wouldn’t have been parading around the world without considering others,” she said.

“The words that come out of their mouth in other words are seemingly meaningless because they don’t live up to what they say. In fact, they demonstrate the opposite.”

Samantha also questioned the issue of someone claiming they want privacy, only to seek out countless avenues of media exposure simultaneously.

“[The Sussexes are] putting themselves on the world stage using expensive PR while demanding privacy, while writing books, while being on Oprah that had 50 million viewers,” she said. “People who want privacy don’t do that. You live your life quietly in privacy so it’s such hypocrisy. I think they did a brilliant job.”

The host also asked Samantha if, in her opinion, her half sister and the prince have crafted a narrative of victimhood.

“Yeah, and so many people have commented from the [Netflix] documentary where we saw she said nobody asked if I’m okay,” she continued.

“People are starving and suffering and in my opinion, and the opinion of others, you can’t play victim when you’re flying around on private jets, when you’ve got security, when you’re loaded with millions, you’re getting a $100 million for this deal, $2 million for that deal.”
