Reading boss Ince has praised Ten Hag and the job he has done at United ahead of their meeting this weekend.
Ince said: “It looks to me as if he has risen the standards. He is doing it his way which is so important. It helps when you’re winning games and have got a lot of money to spend.
“He has brought in the right players. For so many years we’ve talked about United’s recruitment. I feel like he is getting there with the players has brought in.
“They are all starting to gel and that breeds confidence. When you go back to Sir Alex Ferguson and his success, it’s so important to have that stability.
“You can’t keep chopping and changing managers anywhere. United have done that too often in the last four or five years. Hopefully, he is there for a long time.”
