Albert Gudmundsson is still the priority target for Inter Milan in attack, but George Ilenikhena is the club’s Plan B.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are looking to sign a forward this summer, the Gazzetta report.

Next season there will be Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Mehdi Taremi in attack for the Nerazzurri.

Then, the question of a couple other forwards is up in the air.

Marko Arnautovic is still under contract with Inter until the end of next June.

However, the sense is that the Nerazzurri would listen to offers of €5 million for the Austrian.

Then, Joaquin Correa may return to the club. Unless Marseille win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League, the Ligue 1 will not sign him on a permanent basis when his loan expires.

But the Gazzetta report that a Saudi club could come back in for Correa this summer.

According to the Gazzetta, Inter’s main objective in attack remains Genoa forward Albert Gudmundsson.

The Nerazzurri see the Icelandic international as having the ideal profile to complete their attack.

However, Inter are mindful of the fact that Gudmundsson certainly will not come cheap.

Therefore, the Gazzetta report, the Nerazzurri could go a bit of a different route.

They could instead look to sign a younger talent with room to grow.

18-year-old striker Ilenikhena is currently shining for Antwerp in the Belgian top flight.

The teenage striker is born in Lagos, Nigeria. However, he spent the majority of his childhood in France, having moved to the country at the age of three.

Ilenikhena has not yet made an appearance for either Nigeria or France at senior or youth team level.

Ilenikhena first broke through for Ligue 1 side Amiens last season.

Then, the teenage striker earned a move to Belgian side Antwerp last summer.

This season, Ilenikhena has made forty appearances for Antwerp. He has scored a total of fourteen goals for the Belgians.
