Italian journalist Fabrizio Biasin reveals how Inter Milan assistant coach Massimiliano Farris heaped praise on Davy Klaassen.

The Dutchman joined the Nerazzurri on a free transfer last summer after rescinding his contract with Ajax.

However, he couldn’t carve himself a regular spot in Simone Inzaghi’s starting lineup. The 31-year-old has only made 17 appearances for the club across all competitions, with the vast majority coming off the bench.

Therefore, most accounts tip Klaassen to leave Appiano Gentile once his contract expires at the end of the season following what has been described as a disappointing campaign.

However, Biasin reveals that the technical staff does in fact appreciate the the player’s contributions.

The journalist explains how Inzaghi’s assistant Farris only had words of praise when talking about the Netherlands international.

“I also spoke with Farris for ten minutes about Klaassen,” said Biasin during his appearance on Telelombardia via FcInter1908.

“Among all the players he could have praised, he made sure to affirm the importance of Klaassen in the squad.

“One might say he didn’t do anything this season. But on the contrary, Farris made me understand that, despite playing ten minutes, he was very useful for the team.”
