Wydad Athletic Club Faces Another Defeat in CAF Champions League

The disappointing start to the group campaign continues for Wydad Athletic Club, who suffered another 1-0 defeat in a simultaneous fixture against Ivorian giants Asec Mimosas on Saturday.

The former champions have yet to find their rhythm in this season's group stages, initially stunned by Botswana's Jwaneng Galaxy at home last weekend before facing another setback against the Ivorians on Saturday.

Despite both sides having their fair share of goal-scoring opportunities throughout the match, it was Sankara Karamoko's 72nd-minute strike that secured the much-needed victory for the Ivorians, propelling them to the top of Group B ahead of Jwaneng Galaxy on goal difference.
