Overnight sensation Michael Block is expected to bring his fairytale PGA Championship performance from the golf course to Netflix.

Full Swing, the show which follows some of golf's biggest stars, is currently filming season two and this past weekend focussed on American star Block's riveting round at Oak Hill which drew emotion from the crowd and his fellow players. His stunning hole-in-one, witnessed by none other than Rory McIlroy, was the first by a PGA club professional at the tournament since 1996.

McIlroy and Shane Lowry are also reported to have been followed by the Netflix cameras, who were spotted in the Pittsford Pub over the weekend. Multiple reports suggest that Block is due to have a large segment in season two, with the 46-year-old being mic'd up by a member of Full Swing's crew prior to teeing off.

The first season of the docu-series first aired in February, as eight episodes showcased some of golf's most appealing names throughout 2022. Full Swing focused on all four of the men's Majors, culminating with the PGA Tour's FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Block, who hails from St Louis, Missouri, tied for 15th at the end of a dramatic tournament, once again the best finish for a club pro in the Championship since 1986. He secured a place at next year's PGA after a par-saving putt on the 18th kept him at one over, bagging him a cool $288,333 (£232k) in prize money, by far the highest earning of his career.

"I have never made a hole-in-one in a tournament and to make it then was probably the most surreal moment I will have in my life," Block beamed after his heroics.

"I'm living a dream - I just played with Justin Rose on a Saturday at a major and Rory McIlroy on a Sunday at a major. I'm not sure how it gets any bigger than that.

"I'm like the new John Daly, but I don't have a mullet, and I'm not quite as big as him yet. I'm just a club professional, right? I work. I have fun. I have a great wife. I have great friends. I live the normal life. I love being at home. I love sitting in my backyard. My best friend in the world is my dog. I can't wait to see him. I miss him so much it's ridiculous, my little black lab."

LIV Golf's Brooks Koepka came out on top on Sunday to earn his fifth major title. The 33-year-old became only the 20th golfer in history to reach five.
