Akash Madhwal completes a five-wicket haul as he cleans up Mohsin Khan to bundle out LSG for 101 in 16.3 overs. They win the match by 81 runs and will now lock horns with defending champions Gujarat Titans at their home with the final spot up for grabs.

Another fruitful over by Akash Madhwal as he gets rid of Ravi Bishnoi for 3(6). 

Deepak Hooda also departs in the same over as he gets in a mix-up with Naveen-ul-Haq, which results in the third run-out of the LSG innings. LSG: 100-9 (15 overs)

Akash Madhwal comes into the attack and he starts with a huge LBW appeal against Ayush Badoni. He insists his skipper to take the DRS, which he obliges and the batter is saved by the umpires call. 

However, the pacer then cleans up Badoni later in the over, who departs for 1(7), and gets rid of Nicholas Pooran for a first-ball duck. LSG: 75/5 (10 overs)

After a slow start, Krunal Pandya charges down the track against Piyush Chawla. Connects it well but fails to clear the distance as he is caught by Tim David at the long-on fence. He departs for 8(11). 

The final ball results in a boundary, which comes in the form of leg byes. LSG 74-3 (9 overs)

Cameron Green is introduced in the attack and he almost gets rid of Stoinis, who is dropped by Nehal Wadhera square off the wicket as the batter completes a double. Tough chance as he ran from sweeper cover, puts in a good dive but fails to hold onto the ball. 

Stoinis then hits Green for a boundary as eight runs come in the over. LSG 36-2 (5 overs)

Chris Jordan provides Mumbai Indians with the second breakthrough. Drops a length ball and Kyle Mayers tries to play it in the air towards the mid-wicket region. However, doesn't get the desired connection as the ball skies in the air and settles at Cameron Green's hands at mid-on. He falls for 18(13)

Marcus Stoinis joins the run chase and opens his account with a four. LSG: 28/2 (4 overs)

Akash Madhwal will share the new ball with Behrendorff and they almost get the wicket of Kyle Mayers after an exceptional fielding effort by Hrithik Shokeen. He, however, fails to knock the stumps with a direct hit and with no one backing at the wickets, it allows Mayers to return home just in time. 

The pacer then gets rid of Prerak Mankad, who is caught by Shokeen at third man. He falls for 3(6). 

Krunal Pandya joins the run chase. LSG: 12/1 (2 overs)

Nehal Wadhera is doing a great job as an Impact Substitute. He starts the final over with a boundary. Sends the ball towards the fine leg fence as he shuffles across the crease and connects a ball pitched wide of the off stumps.

He then hits the pacer for a SIX and a four before getting out in the final delivery for 23(12). 

MI post 182/8 in 20 overs.

Naveen-ul-Haq comes to bowl his final over and he is hit for a six by Nehal Wadhera. He then rotates the strike in the next ball, following which Naveen bowls a hattrick of wides. 

Naveen-ul-Haq then picks his fourth wicket as Tilak Varma is caught by Deepak Hooda at long-off. He falls for 26(22). 

Chris Jordan comes in the middle and there is a mix-up between him and Wadhera but there is no run-out. MI: 162/6 (18 overs)

Yash Thakur pitches it full and wide, which is connected well by Tim David as he sends the ball over Krunal Pandya at point for a boundary.

However, the batter is packed for run-a-ball 13 in the same over as he is caught at long-on by Deepak Hooda. There was a no-ball check for height and third umpire rules it as a fair delivery. 

Meanwhile, Nehal Wadhera is introduced as an Impact Substitute in place of Suryakumar Yadav. MI: 148/5 (16.3 overs)

Krunal Pandya comes to bowl his final over and concedes just five singles in it. MI: 121/4 (13 overs).

With this Krunal also completes his quota of overs as a total of 38 runs come in it.

Naveen-ul-Haq is reintroduced and he is welcomed with a boundary by Suryakumar Yadav, who then completes a double. 

The third ball is a dot and the fourth one results in a wicket. Bowls it full, slightly slow and SKY plays it way too early. The ball gets the elevation but not the desired distance as Gowtham grabs the ball right in front of the sidescreen to pack SKY for 33(20). 

Naveen-ul-Haq then cleans up Cameron Green for 41(23) in the final delivery as MI reach 105-4 in 11 overs.

Mohsin Khan continues from his end and drops it at length, with the ball coming at Suryakumar's body. The batter guides it behind the wickets for a maximum, well that was a well crafted shot, making a difficult one look very easy. 

Green finishes the over with another maximum. Another back of a length, which is smashed over the square leg fence. MI: 89/2 (9 overs) 

Ravi Bishnoi is introduced in the attack and he starts with a single. Suryakumar then gets a double as he paddle sweeps the spinner. Lucky form him as it bounced slightly behind the short fine leg fielder.

Five runs come in the over as MI reach 75/2 in 8 overs.

Mohsin Khan is introduced in the attack and Cameron Green drives a full delivery by the pacer towards the covers fence. Eight runs come off the over as MI reach 70/2 in 7 overs.

Green is batting on 30 off 14 balls, while SKY has scored 10 off 6 balls.

Krunal Pandya comes to bowl the final over of the powerplay and Cameron Green welcomes him with a four. 

The Australian all-rounder gets two more boundaries in the over as 16 runs come in the over. MI: 62/2 (6 overs)

Yash Thakur strikes in his first over as Ishan Kishan is caught behind by Nicholas Pooran. Bounce and it takes an edge as Ishan tries to slash it square of the wicket. He departs for 15(12). 

Suryakumar Yadav joins Green in the middle and finishes the over with a SIX. MI: 46/2 (5 overs)

LSG introduce pace in the form of Naveen-ul-Haq, who strikes in his first over as Rohit Sharma falls for 11(10). The MI skipper steps out and but fails to clear the in-field and is caught by Ayush Badoni at covers.

Cameron Green joins the attack and opens his account with a four. He then gets another boundary, which comes off an edge. MI: 38/1 (4 overs)

Krunal comes to bowl his second over and Rohit Sharma welcomes him with a six over long-on. The spinner bowls a dot and then gets hits for a four in the third ball. 

He then concedes another boundary in the form of byes as 16 runs come from the over. MI: 29/0 (3 overs)

Kyle Mayers too had some healthy outings before Lucknow were forced to drop him from the XI to get their combination straight. With Chepauk being a slow track, LSG might bring the Caribbean all-rounder back in the mix and rest Naveen-ul-Haq, who bowls quick. 

If we look at Mayers' season, the all-rounder has mustered 361 runs from 12 encounters.

He had scored a blazing half-century the last time LSG played at this venue but it had come in a losing cause.

Lucknow Super Giants' have so far not missed the services of KL Rahul and they hope things remain the same, when they meet Mumbai tonight. 

Marcus Stoinis has so far scored 368 runs from 14 encounters, Nicholas Pooran too has been good at the backend, scoring 358 from the same number of encounters.

Mumbai Indians batters failed to put a show, when they locked horns with Chennai Super Kings at the same venue during the league stage. 

The top-order crumbled and MI could only muster 139/8 in 20 overs, leaving CSK with a 140-run target, which they chased down in 17.4 overs.

However, the big concern for Mumbai will be the Chepauk track, which has the reputation to assist the spinners. Lucknow boast of a formidable spin attack with Ravi Bishnoi leading the charge. Apart from him, LSG could also utilise Amit Mishra, who could be a dangerous custodian. 

Krunal Pandya, too, has been decent with the ball and he can prove crucial against Mumbai Indians, which is also his former team.

Apart from Cameron Green and Rohit Sharma, Mumbai have other potential hitters, who can turn the tide in their favour in any conditions. The biggest of them being Suryakumar Yadav, who has amassed 511 runs from 14 games, which include one century, four fifties. 

Ishan Kishan, who departed cheaply in the clash against SRH, too will look to give the team a solid start at the top. The wicket-keeper batter has so far managed 439 runs from the same number of matches.

The good news for Mumbai Indians is their skipper Rohit Sharma finding some lost mojo at the business end of the tournament. After a slow start to the season, Rohit scored a half-century against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous encounter. 

Rohit has 313 runs under his belt from 14 outings at a strike-rate of 134.33. He averages 22.36 and will look to pile some big runs in the crucial encounter at Chepauk.

Mumbai Indians roped in Cameron Green for a whopping amount of ₹17.25 crore at the auctions and the Australian all-rounder has so far lived up to the reputation. He smashed a match-winning ton against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous encounter, and has so far accumulated 381 runs from 14 encounters at a strike-rate of 159.41. 

If we look at his contribution with the ball, Green has scalped six wickets in the 32 overs he has bowled so far and has an economy of 9.71.

If we look at Lucknow Super Giants, the team were knocked out last year at the same stage after dominating most part of the league stages.

Coming to the ongoing edition, Lucknow have not replicated the show they put last year but have enjoyed fair amount of success before reaching the final four. 

In the absence of regular skipper KL Rahul, Krunal Pandya has tactfully used his resources and he will once again look to do the same against the five-time champions tonight.

Mumbai Indians had the worst season last time around, and it looked a similar story before the batters found their lost mojo.

The team secured a dramatic entry into the IPL play-offs and will now look to carry forward the momentum heading into the must-win encounter against Lucknow Super Giants.
