Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rhulani Mokwena asserted that Divine Lunga's controversial second challenge on Stellenbosch FC winger Devin Titus did not merit a red card during their 2-1 Nedbank Cup semi-final victory.

At the moment of the tackle, Sundowns held a 1-0 lead courtesy of Khuliso Mudau, and Lunga had already received a yellow card five minutes into the match, also for a challenge on Titus, whom the Zimbabwean defender was finding increasingly difficult to contain as the match unfolded.

But in a moment of madness, seconds before the incident, linesman Zakhele Siwele pulled his hamstring while attending to his line. He then dropped to the corner flag because he needed medical assistance, after which he was replaced by Christopher Kastoor.
