Ceri Holland wins LFC Women's Player of the Month award for ...

The midfielder claims the prize for the first time in the 2023-24 season after topping a fan poll on Liverpoolfc.com.

Holland impressed in her three appearances for the Reds during the month to finish ahead of teammates Sophie Roman Haug and Marie Höbinger in the vote.

Collecting the prize at the AXA Melwood Training Centre, the No.18 said: "It means a lot being voted for by the fans.

"Obviously it was a good month for the team as well and getting back-to-back away wins was massive for us to head into the international break, so I'm massively thankful to the fans for voting for me.

"Our fans have been absolutely incredible this season. Even watching the game at the weekend and the support that we had against Aston Villa, I think the way our fans have travelled this season... and even at Prenton Park we have made that a difficult place for teams to come."

Holland played all of Liverpool's 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur in the Barclays Women's Super League to open February, before featuring in the 2-0 Adobe Women's FA Cup victory at London City Lionesses.

The Wales international was then the match-winner away at Brighton & Hove Albion with her 53rd-minute goal to boost the Reds' chase for a top-four finish.

Holland continued: "The game at Tottenham was frustrating because we started slowly in that one but it was massive for us to get the point.

"Then we got the back-to-back away wins, the one in the FA Cup was a massive win and then to go to Brighton and win on a very difficult surface was massive for us.

"We are in a really good place as a team, we are really full of confidence and everyone is enjoying it and playing with smiles on their faces, and I think that's the most important thing. Hopefully we can continue to build on that.

"There's a real belief within the group – through the staff and the whole squad, I think. Everybody knows they have a role to play and that's been seen in the past couple weeks as well particularly.

"Everyone is stepping up to the plate and we've obviously come into performances at the right time. So to be level on points with Manchester United is a nice feeling, but it's all about pushing on and trying to get that fourth spot."
