The victory was enough for the PSL champions to seal a 6-2 aggregate victory, having won the first-leg 4-1 away from home last weekend.

In Saturday's second-leg at Loftus Versfeld, Sundowns fell behind to a Sofiane Bouchar goal in the 24th minute, but responded with goals from Themba Zwane (45th minute) and Thapelo Morena (49th minute).

Zwane's goal on the stroke of half-time, and Morena's shortly after the break, knocked the stuffing out of the Algerians as 'Downs cruised into the last four of the continental showpiece.

In the semi-finals, Sundowns will face defending champions Wydad Casablanca, who scraped into the last-four with a 4-3 victory on penalties over Tanzania's Simba on Friday night.

Sundowns have won the CAF Champions League once before in their history, when they beat Egyptian side Zamalek 3-1 in a two-legged final in 2016.
