“How Tf…”: Arnold Schwarzenegger's Millionaire Son Bewildered ...

3 May 2023

Ever since the release of Black Adam in 2022, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has arguably lost the fans’ favorite status. While the movie was a box office failure, it also landed Johnson in several controversies. From being blamed for sinking two franchises to being accused of lying about the profits, Johnson encountered one trouble after the other. Though the issues soon became a thing of the past, the movie has once again come under the limelight as another film from the DC Universe is nearing its release.

Recently, a DCU fan account released the budget set for the 2023 film, The Flash Movie. As they compared the budget of the upcoming film to that of Black Adam, bodybuilder-turned-actor Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s millionaire son and actor Patrick Schwarzenegger was left baffled.

On 1st May 2023, a Twitter handle with the display name “Home of DCU” posted the budget allocated for The Flash Movie. They also pointed out how the amount is far less than what was used for Dwyane Johnson’s movie Black Adam last year. The tweet read, “The budget for #TheFlashMovie is 220M, around 40M less than Black Adam’s! (Paul Austerberry).”

When the Midnight Sun actor Patrick Schwarzenegger came across the abovementioned tweet, he was stunned. However, the cause for his bewilderment was not the difference in the budget but the amount used to make Black Adam, as per the tweet. Astonished that DCU spent $260m on the movie, Schwarzenegger questioned, “How tf did black adam cost that much?”

The funds related to this superhero film have been under fire for as long as one can remember. While now the expensive budget is being questioned, earlier it was the box office collection of the movie.

Did Dwayne Johnson lie about the profits?

Back in December 2022, the Black Adam actor proudly tweeted about how much his film had grossed. The Rock happily claimed that the film had incurred a whooping $400m worldwide. Thereby, making a profit between $52M-$72M. Moreover, Johnson also believed that the movie was progressing step by step towards building a franchise of its own in the DC Universe. However, the film has reportedly earned 389,256,034. These numbers are far from the $400m claimed by The Rock.

Furthermore, fans believe Johnson’s ego to not act as a bad guy in the movie has led to the sinking of two franchises. The franchises in question are Shazam and Black Adam. DC had attempted to revive the latter character in the 2023 film named Shazam! Fury of the Gods. However, Johnson refused to make a Black Adam cameo in it, to play the anti-hero. It ended up messing up the intended plot line for Shazam, resulting in yet another failure for DC.
