RCB's Playoff Scenario

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will play visitors to Sunrisers Hyderabad for their last league match of the tournament. With a run rate of +0.166, the Faf-led side are currently placed fifth in the points table.

The 112-run victory in Jaipur gave RCB the boost they needed for their sputtering season. Their chances of finishing with 16 points were not only maintained, but their NRR was also increased from -0.345 to +0.166.

Given the progress they have made in their NRR, they are essentially guaranteed a qualification if they win their final two games. If they only succeed in one match, Mumbai must lose their final contest. However, RR, Kolkata, and Punjab will still have a chance to make the playoffs if RCB loses one of their remaining games. RCB will need to control their net run rate, which is now higher than all of the aforementioned teams, in that case.

Bangalore has an advantage over their rivals there. Bangalore will have the advantage of knowing the precise NRR scenario going into the final league game.
