SRH vs RCB

By India Today Sports Desk: SunRisers Hyderabad on Thursday, May 18 brought back young England batter Harry Brook for their penultimate match of the IPL 2023 season against Royal Challengers Bangalore at home. Brook returns to the side after he was dropped due to poor form in his maiden season in the IPL.

Harry Brook was among the hottest properties in the IPL 2023 auction as he had headed into the season on the back of stunning numbers for England in international cricket. Brook was an integral part of England's aggressive approach in Test cricket, famously called Bazball, hitting 4 hundreds in his first 6 Tests.

Brook was bought by SunRisers Hyderabad for Rs 13.25 crore at the auction but the young batter has so far failed to live up to expectations despite getting a hundred. Brook hit a hundred against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens but the England batter manged just 34 runs in his next 5 innings, which included 2 ducks.

However, after having lost two on the bounce and getting knocked out of the playoffs race, SRH handed a recall to Harry Brook.

SunRisers also brought back Kartik Tyagi and handed an IPL debut to right-arm fast bowler and 19-year-old Nitish Reddy.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore did not make any changes to the side that hammered the Rajasthan Royals by 112 runs in Jaipur on May 14.

RCB made two surprise changes for the game in Jaipur as they dropped Josh Hazlewood and Wanindu Hasaranga and played Wayne Parnell and Michael Bracewell.

Faf du Plessis, who won the toss and opted to bat, said Hasaranga has been having a niggle and his recovery wasn't as quick as expected.

"They have niggles a bit and so Michael Bracewell gives us the batting option," Du Plessis said.
