Live scores, updates and highlights from the second round of the 88th Masters at Augusta National Golf Club

AUGUSTA, Ga. -- It has already been an interesting Friday at Augusta National Golf Club as inclement weather and darkness from the day prior will lead to some golfers playing as many has 20 holes on the last day before the weekend arrives at the 2024 Masters. Out in front with the clubhouse lead as action begins Friday is Bryson DeChambeau, though 2022 Masters winner Scottie Scheffler is just one stroke back seeking to continue the torrid pace at which he's started this season.

Elsewhere, Rory McIlroy opened play with his first opening round under par at Augusta National in six years, while Tiger Woods is looking to continue his epic made-cuts streak. Max Homa has stayed low and is bouncing around the top of the leaderboard, though DeChambeau and Scheffler will not begin their second roudns until the afternoon.

    Bryson back on top

Max Homa made a major run early Friday to match Bryson DeChambeu for the top spot on the 2024 Masters leaderboard, but the Americans switched places with DeChambeau approaching the end of his first nine. Homa bogeyed the 11th after reeling off six straight pars, while DeChambeau got his bogey on the 4th back with this birdie on the 7th.

There are now four at the top

The lead is back down to 6 under as both Max Homa and Bryson DeChambeau have dropped shots over the last few moments. They are joined by Scottie Scheffler who has yet to tee off and Nicolai Hojgaard who has experienced an up-and-down day. Anything under par today is really, really good with the early course average being a shade over 75.

      Tiger eyes cut-streak record

A par on No. 10 is never a bad thing. Tiger Woods finds the fairway, finds the green and two putts for his par on the 10th. He remains at 1 over and three strokes inside the projected cutline. It may be possible this thing moves to even 5 over with how Augusta is playing.

Homa misses a couple chances; very solid first nine

His driver betrayed him at certain stages, but it is a first-nine 34 for Max Homa. He came into the week having never broken par on the first nine at Augusta National and he is now 2-for-2 this week. While it was 99% good, Homa did fail to take advantage of the 8th and a look from 14 feet on No. 9. He remains tied with Bryson who just launched a 5 iron maybe 275 yards over the green on No. 4.

        Back-to-back par saves for Bryson

It's not an ideal start, but it is a good one for our overnight leader. Getting up-and-down on No. 1 for par, DeChambeau tried to get cute on No. 2 and almost paid the price. Dumping his third into the greenside bunker, the big right hander got up-and-down to remain at 7 under alongside Max Homa.

Tiger chips in to get back to even

The big cat is battling in the tough conditions and just picked off an unlikely birdie on No. 6. Chipping from just below the surface, Woods walked it in and gets back to even par on the day. Woods is 1 over for the tournament and well inside the projected cutline of 4 over as windy conditions continue to wreak havoc on players

        Max Homa, in his bag

This is impressive stuff from Homa at the moment. After finding the fairway bunker on No. 5, he makes par the hard way to maintain his 7 under score. He is tied with Bryson DeChambeau who is on the first tee and hoping to replicate his effort from Thursday. Meanwhile, Cameron Young is lurking at 5 under in another major championship.
