Legendary record producer Sello “Chicco” Twala has opted to open a case of robbery and theft against his troublesome sons, Sello and Longwe Twala, at the Douglasdale Police Station, accusing them of stealing his studio equipment at his home in Fourways, Johannesburg.
City Press understands that Longwe and his younger brother were arrested on Monday and detained at the Douglasdale Police Station; they are expected to make their first court appearance at the Randburg Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

Chicco confirmed to City Press that he opened the case, claiming that the incident happened when he was on a trip to the USA.
He said:
I won’t sit and watch a drug addict continuously stealing from me and be silent. Yes, I can confirm that when I was in the USA, my son Longwe and his brother Sello Twala colluded and stole my equipment in the studio.
He lamented that he was aware that Longwe had a drug problem, which was at the centre of his outrageous behaviour.
“Longwe, whom I chased away a while ago because of his drug addiction, jumped the high walls and broke into my studio and stole my stuff.

“I saw the likes of the late Hope Zinde and many parents killed by their own flesh and blood because of drug addiction
“Him and his younger brother have been stealing from me for a long time, hence, I decided that enough was enough. Let them rot in jail,” he said.
Longwe's arrest comes as his name was mentioned during the trial on slain Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.

According to Advocate Thulani Mngomezulu, the lawyer for accused number one, Muzikawukhulelwa Sibiya, Longwe was the one who pulled the trigger, which ultimately killed Meyiwa in October 2014. Mngomezulu said he would call a witness to testify that there were three shots fired inside the house when Meyiwa was killed.
“The witness will tell the court that three shots were fired inside the house. One caused injury to Zandile on her leg; the other shot was when Longwe shot himself on the leg during the struggle with Meyiwa, and the third shot killed Meyiwa.

These shots are not in any sequence.
“After the incident, Longwe’s wound became septic. He went to see the late Dr Mbadzani, and he was referred to Dr Modise at Rand Hospital so that the bullet could be taken out,” he said.
