Leon Schuster teases new Springboks song – from hospital! [watch]

Leon Schuster is currently in hospital recovering from a back operation…but that hasn’t stopped him from cracking jokes and even showing his support to the Springboks.

The South African comedian and actor has kept a low profile in recent years. However, friends claim he is working on new material – including a new song for the national team ahead of the Rugby World Cup next month.

The song is titled Bokmasjien and was officially released on Friday, 25 August.

According to a social media post by friend Rene Stokes, Leon Schuster is currently recovering from a back operation in a Pretoria hospital.

The 72-year-old actor injured himself while filming the 2022 movie Mr Bones 3. Stokes claims that years of being “bliksemmed” by the public took a toll on Schuster.

In a video posted on Facebook, Leon Schuster sent a message of support to the Springboks ahead of their clash against the All Blacks on Friday. The Boks emerged as the victors after beating their rugby rivals 37-5.

NEW SONG FOR THE SPRINGBOKS 

Leon Schuster’s new song Bokmasjien comes just three weeks before the Springboks take on the Rugby World Cup in France from 8 September to 28 October.

SA will play their first match against Scotland on 10 September.

It’s not the only song the national team will be grooving to. Sister Bethina hitmaker Mgarimbe recently released his catchy track Amabokoboko or Sister Bokkina.
