EAST LONDON - The death toll in the Eastern Cape floods now stands at seven, with thousands evacuated.

Heavy rains battered Nelson Mandela Bay yesterday, with more downpours expected on Monday.

Falling trees, mudslides and flash floods also wreaked havoc in Buffalo City.

Thousands have been evacuated while many vehicles were stuck in flooded bridges.
