The Nigerian shot stoppers has been one of the top performers in the DStv Premiership, keeping six clean sheets in 12 appearances and conceding just 10 goals.

His fine form has seen his stake climb and several clubs, including Chiefs said to be keen on his services, but Nwabili has insisted he’s only focussed on his job at Chippa.

“Rumours are just rumours,” he told iDiski Times writer Lethabo Kganyago.

“I’m not thinking about anything until I see something on my table. I’m focusing on my own club, helping them to be better this season.

“I’m not worried about what’s going on; on social media, I’m just worried about Chippa.”

Nwabili’s fine performances have seemingly also monitored by Nigeria coach Jose Peseiro, who visited Chippa on Friday, and the goalkeeper hasn’t given up hope to still jump onto the AFCON plane.

“I wish to get a call-up but it’s not compulsory. It’s not by my performance because everyone is doing well in different clubs, other goalkeepers have been doing well in their clubs,” he added.

“If you are called up to your national team, kudos to you but I wish to represent my own country. I wish to wear my country’s jersey. I wish to wear it again.

“I went there before and I wish to wear it again in a nice tournament. That’s my wish.”
