Phone pings appear to show actor Julian Sands on the move two days after he was reported missing

British actor Julian Sands, who shot to fame as Helena Bonham Carter's love interest in 1985's Room with a View, is still missing after hiking deadly Mount San Antonio, otherwise known as Mount Baldy.

Authorities have warned the public not to venture out onto the mountain amid extreme weather conditions. They have already reported more than a dozen rescue missions over the past few weeks, and two deaths.

On Thursday, the actor's car was recovered close by and has since been towed away by his family, as air searches continued Friday by helicopter, according to The Guardian.

Ground searches are still impossible amid the poor weather conditions, which saw Joe Biden recently approve an emergency declaration for the California area.

Rescuers have been using the actor's phone for clues as to his whereabouts. Phone pings appeared to show the star on the move two days after he was reported missing, BBC reports.

"There has been no new update or witness information about his whereabouts since then," however, Gloria Huerta, Public Information Officer for the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, told the publication.

Authorities have responded to 14 calls on Mount Baldy and in the surrounding area over the last four weeks, they said, and two hikers did not survive the trek.

One of them was Crystal Paula Gonzalez-Landas, known as "the dancing hiking queen", who slid to her death.
