Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia doesn’t recommend dating someone in the public eye.
On the same day Zach Bryan confirmed their breakup, the Barstool Sports host’s appearance on Haliey Welch’s Talk Tuah podcast was released and she didn’t hold back when it came to expressing why she doesn’t support people dating celebrities.
"I said on the BFFs [podcast] that I would never date anyone famous ever," she admitted during the Oct. 22 episode, recorded before the Brianna and Zach spoke publicly of their split. "Literally never wanted to and then it kinda just happened."
When asked what made her go against her own rule and date the country singer, however, Brianna struggled to find the right words. "Uh, I don't know,” she stammered. “I wish it ... don't date famous people."
She later expanded, “I think it’s better for the mental to not date someone famous. It’s a lot.”
Zach, 28, released a statement on his Instagram Story on Oct. 22, writing of his girlfriend of more than a year, “Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart.”
Noting that it had been an “incredibly hard year personally amid pretty severe struggles,” the “Something in the Orange” singer added, “I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our separate ways.”

While expressing feeling “blindsided” by her ex, the Internet personality shared the split happened just one day prior and that he posted about it online before she’d had the chance to process what had happened.
“I wanted to heal privately, and I didn’t know he was gonna post that and we broke up yesterday,” Brianna said in a tearful YouTube video on Oct. 22. “I wasn’t ready to do anything publicly.”
E! News previously reached out to Zach's rep for comment and has not heard back.

Brianna, who started dating the Grammy winner in July 2023 after he slid into her DMs, reflected on how the devastating breakup has questioned her outlook on love.
“I’m at the point where it’s like how can you give someone everything and love them so unconditionally through stuff that you shouldn’t?” she questioned. “I guess you just love them, and you see the good in them. How can you give every ounce of yourself to someone and be discarded in a few days? It’s really, really heartbreaking.”
