XDefiant Fails To Defy Day One Server Issues < NAG

When everything in the gaming industry is going up in flames, like studios closing down and prices for AAAA games going up, it’s good to know that some things never change.

Yep, I’m talking about day-one multiplayer game launches and the complete dumpster fire that their servers always are.

XDefiant, Ubisoft’s free-to-play FPS shooter that combines factions from all its franchises, went live yesterday. However, it was not all fun runs and guns. Multiple users reported that they could not log into the game and even those who could log in faced an unclickable join match button or sat in an endless queue for one.

Even Mark Rubin, XDefiant’s Executive Producer, posted on X saying that the servers “go boom.”

The team stated they were working on patches and fixes, and even just an hour after picking the issue, the servers started to report a smoother matchmaking experience.

However, even after improving the servers themselves, there still seems to be an issue with extremely low FPS for some users. Apparently, anyone running an AMD card in their rig is destined for a max FPS of 15, but fret not because there is a fix. Everyone reports that their frame rate returns to normal after completely removing any traces of Nvidia software from their systems. You can either search for the Nvidia drivers in the Add/Remove app on Windows or use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to pick up the drivers and remove them for you. Just be sure not to remove the latest AMD drivers I hope you have installed.

Hopefully, by the time I manage to convince the rest of the NAG team to jump onto a game with me this weekend, the servers will be sorted.

Have you already jumped into the official XDefiant launch? Let us know how your experience went in the comments below.
