Hello everybody and welcome along to another MARCA in English LaLiga EA Sports live blog, this time bringing the latest updates of Villarreal vs Barcelona.

Xavi Hernandez's Catalan side haven't had a perfect start to their attempted title defence, with four points from their opening two games. Real Madrid are top on nine points already, so the champions know that they will need to keep picking up points.

Villarreal, meanwhile, have one win and a loss from their opening two games coming into Matchday 3.

Barcelona strolled to a relatively straightforward LaLiga title last season, but Real Madrid are expected to put up more of a fight this term and already look a better team with Jude Bellingham hitting the ground running.

Barcelona, though, have already slipped up this term. They drew at Getafe in their season opener before winning at home to Cadiz.

Xavi will need to get his side focused to avoid falling too far behind in the title race.
