Sporting CP have been in the headlines this past week for the high-profile move of their manager Ruben Amorim to Manchester United, but the Portuguese top-flight leaders have managed to hold on to him for a run of significant matches.
Chief among those is Tuesday's UEFA Champions League clash with United's local rivals, Manchester City, who are looking to extend their unbeaten run in the competition to a 26th consecutive game (in 90 minutes) and bounce back from a pair of domestic defeats.
Pep Guardiola has bemoaned an injury crisis that has forced numerous first-team players onto the sidelines, and he'll be hoping that enough of his battered but very expensive squad are shipshape in time for their trip to Portugal.
Sporting, meanwhile, are hoping to maintain their 100% record so far this season, having not lost a game in all competitions, and to finish life under Amorim on a high - while perhaps showing him what he'll miss when he heads to Old Trafford.
Their most recent outing was a 5-1 thrashing of Estrela de Amadora, and they'll fancy their chances against City.
Manchester City sit third in the Champions League table, with Sporting seventh, although both are on seven points, having drawn one and won two games.
‘Sometimes the opponents are better’ - Man City ‘could not handle’ Bournemouth, says Guardiola
