Tottenham vs West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur will begin their new era under the leadership of Ange Postecoglou in Perth when they meet West Ham United at Optus Stadium in a pre-season friendly.

The Hammers commenced their tour Down Under with a comfortable victory over Perth Glory last weekend with Jarrod Bowen stepping off the bench to star for David Moyes' side.

Both clubs have been clouded by transfer speculation around their respective star players with Declan Rice's departure to Arsenal confirmed during West Ham's win over the Glory.

Meanwhile, Harry Kane's future at Spurs remains in doubt despite the club being busy in the market with the likes of James Maddison and Guglielmo Vicario set to claim their first starts for Tottenham.

Tottenham vs West Ham updates, highlights and commentary

59 mins: Richardson is being a pest leading the line and gets an appreciative clap from his manager.

the Brazilian then races through on goal but smashes his effort off the post.

54 mins: The raft of changes made by both sides has brought the tempo down somewhat but the story remains the same - plenty of the ball for Spurs but still no goals as yet.

52 mins: Spurs have been camped on the edge of West Ham's box but have still been unable to make a chance count.

47 mins: Plenty of changes for both sides and it's Richarlison, who is on for Kane, who cuts a ball across the face of goal - it catches a deflection though from an onrushing Hammers defender and goes out for a corner.

45 mins: We're back underway!

HT: Tottenham 0 - 2 West Ham

So, over 70 per cent possession for Postecoglou's side in the opening stanza and plenty of decent chances. But they have been unable to get past Fabianski, who has thwarted them at every turn.

For the Hammers, it's two goals from two set-pieces with Bowen again looking threatening every time he gets on the ball.

45 mins: Solomon goes down in the box after driving a chance straight at Fabianski. Bowen slides in during the shot and Spurs want a penalty, but the ref waves play on.

West Ham then spring up the other end with Vicario pulling off a diving save to his left.

41 mins: Fabianksi again denies Tottenham as Bissouma ghosts into the box and shoots low.

Kulusevski then earns a corner when his shot is blocked. Spurs go short and a goal mouth scramble ensues with Solomon snatching at it while in acres of space in the box.

38 mins: Second shaky moment from Vicario as he just about manages to find a teammate with a pass. From the resulting phase though, Solmon attempts to curl one into the top corner, but Fabianski palms it out.

A round of applause goes around the ground on 38 minutes in memory of former West Ham player Dylan Tombides, who tragically lost his life to testicular cancer.

There is warm applause in the 38th minute in memory of @Dylantombides.

Forever remembered. ❤️

35 mins: Bowen goes down with a knee injury and the ref calls a stoppage just as it seemed Kane was going to latch onto a through ball. Spurs fans not happy.

Meanwhile, Bowen seems to be alright.

32 mins: Some nice link play down the left between Solomon and Maddison but the English international's cross is blocked. It's been a frustrating first half an hour for Spurs so far.

28 mins: Spurs again enjoying plenty of the ball, but they haven't been able to carve out any meaningful opportunities since their two early chances which were saved by Fabianski.

25 mins: Off the kickoff, Maddison embarks on a mazy run before he's chopped down on the edge of the box. The midfielder lines it up and smacks it straight at the wall.

23 mins: Goal! Terrible moment for Vicario in goal as he is put under pressure and sprays a ball straight over the line for a corner. And it proves costly with Mubama heading home.

20 mins: Spurs respond and earn back-to-back corners, yet they come to nothing before a pass just runs ahead of Kane in the box to go out for a goal kick.

18 mins: GOAL! Ings puts West Ham in front after Spurs fail to deal with the second phase of a corner. The striker nodding home from five yards out.

17 mins: Maddison sends Kulusevski through down the right with an inch perfect weight of pass, but as he cuts in from the left to get a shot off it's blocked by a defender.

Bowen then replies for West Ham as he cuts inside and sees his shot blocked by Tanganga.

11 mins: Solomon threads a delicate ball into the box with Fabianski once again called upon to make a save from close range. Wave after wave of attack from Spurs who are being patient in possession.

Brilliant work from Solomon and Skippy goes so close to opening the scoring!

Lovely football ????

3 mins: Early show of intent from Spurs who have penned West Ham into their own half while they enjoy all of the possession. West Ham were already 1-0 up against Perth on Saturday at this point in the game.
