Controversy Surrounds Thabo Bester's Jail Cell Dance Video
Social media has been abuzz with mixed reactions after a video surfaced showing the Facebook rapist, Thabo Bester, joyfully dancing in his prison cell. Bester, along with his girlfriend, disgraced doctor Dr Nandipha Magudumana, is set to appear in court on 21 February for multiple charges, including defeating the ends of justice, fraud, corruption, violating a corpse, arson, as well as abetting an inmate to escape from lawful custody.
The couple has been embroiled in a string of legal issues, with Bester recently acquiring the legal representation of high-profile advocates Advocate Dali Mpofu and Advocate Zandile Mshololo. Despite the ongoing legal battles, Bester was captured in the viral video displaying a carefree attitude in his cell, igniting further controversy among online viewers.
At their previous court appearance, Magistrate Estelle de Lange dropped charges against three G4S employees – Nastassja Jansen, Thabang Matthews Mier, and Moeketsi April Ramolula – who were implicated in Bester’s elaborate escape in May 2022. The move added another layer of complexity to the already convoluted case involving the couple.
On the day of their expected court appearance, Magudumana, through her lawyer Machini Motloung, was unable to enter the dock as she allegedly fainted due to food poisoning moments before the session. The incident further fueled speculation and intrigue surrounding the relationship dynamics between the couple and their legal proceedings.
