Video: Cooper's love for Cape Town
WATCH as the Behind the Ruck crew – Springboks Rudy Paige and Juan de Jongh – sit down with Wallaby Quade Cooper
The Wallaby playmaker shared some stories about his days playing Super Rugby in South Africa and his love for Cape Town.
Cooper also spoke about a small bone niggle in his ankle that he had operated on during the off-season and how playing in the Japan Top League helped him to get it sorted without losing game time.
“We are off from May until September so I’ll go back around September 9. For us as players, when I was playing in Australia we would play from January all the way through to December then you’d get three to four weeks off in December.
“I’m getting surgery and I still got five and a half weeks of holidays left so I’m super grateful.”
Co-hosts Rudy Paige and Juan de Jongh mentioned the dinner Cooper had with Springbok captain Siya Kolisi and Cooper emphasized how popular Kolisi is Down Under.

“I was basically his personal photographer walking around my own city.
You see the love the people have here for Siya and the South African team – a lot of South African supporters here so it should be an exciting game on the weekend”
He also added his thoughts on the current Wallabies team and gave some insight on how they should approach the Test.
“We know that we can’t just turn up there and try and match them physically, we’ve got to match them physically but we’ve got to play our own style and have a few things up our sleeve to be able to get on top of them.
He added: “It’s going to be a very difficult game, and it’s going to be the hardest game that a lot of these guys have ever played.”
