CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Former Harvard field hockey standout Hannah Pearce '22 is ready for the 2024 Paris Olympics, as the Johannesburg, South Africa native will represent her home country over the next two weeks in Olympic competition.

Pearce makes her Olympic debut on Sunday, July 28, as South Africa takes on Australia at 6:45 a.m. eastern time in Pool B action. Pool play continues Monday, July 29, as South Africa faces Argentina, silver medalists at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, at 11:30 a.m. EST. On Wednesday, July 31, South Africa faces bronze medalists at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Great Britian, at 4:30 a.m. EST. After a contest against Spain on Thursday, Aug. 1 at 11:30 a.m. EST, South Africa concludes Pool Play against the United States at 7:15 a.m. EST on Saturday, Aug. 3.

In her international, Pearce has appeared for the South African national team 41 times in her career. In Cambridge, Pearce was a leader on and off the field, as she captained a Crimson squad that advanced to the 2021 NCAA Championships semifinals. Pearce earned NFHCA All-America first team honors in 2021 after she tallied a career-high 14 goals and two assists. Over the course of her four-year Harvard career, Pearce scored 25 goals, provided seven assists, and tallied 57 points in 72 appearances.
