This year sees Manchester City try to defend their crown and claim a historic fourth title in succession. Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City, who also won the Champions League and FA Cup last season, will have to see off Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United, Liverpool and the rest to claim an unprecedented sixth league title in seven years.

Meanwhile Luton Town are making their first appearance in the Premier League, having risen from non-league in an incredible decade of progress. They followed Championship winners Burnley and second-placed Sheffield United in earning promotion to the top flight.

OVER! Assignon makes a mess of a clearance and gifts the ball to McAtee, who chips the ball over to McBurnie. He holds onto it well, playing a one-two with Hamer before driving his shot over the bar from the right side of the box.

The Blades continue to put the pressure on after O'Shea heads Osborn's low cross from the left behind. Hamer whips his inswinging corner towards the back post, but Foster gets there ahead of McBurnie to head it away.

SAVE! A simple stop for Grbic. Assignon races down the right for the first time, getting to the byline before firing a cross into the middle of the box. Foster gets his head on it, but his effort towards the top-left corner loops into the goalkeeper's hands.

The Blades must make the most of their dominance. The home side are having a good spell and have created an xG of 1.24 compared to Burnley's 0.29, but have not found a way past Muric with their three shots on target.

Brereton is stretching the pitch on the left and forces Taylor to head his inswinging cross behind for a corner at the back post. The following cross drops to Trusty, who gets ahead of his marker to get a shot away. However, his first-time effort from close range is caught by Muric.

WIDE! Berge bursts through the middle of the pitch and has options on either side. He then rolls a throughball down the left side of the box to Bruun Larsen, who goes around Grbic before shooting wide from a tight angle. He is frustrated with Berge as he believes there was too much pace on the pass.

United have conceded 84 goals in their 32 Premier League games this season; it’s the most at this stage of a top-flight campaign since Ipswich in 1963-64 (85) and the most the Blades have conceded overall in a league campaign since 1954-55 (86 in 42 games). The Blades have displayed a real defensive spirit in the opening exchanges and have made it difficult for Burnley to create any clear chances.

Cullen's inswinging corner from the left is poked clear by Brereton, but only as far as Vitinho. The Brazilian then drills his low strike through several bodies, with Foster flicking it on target, but Grbic makes a simple stop.

15:21

HUGE STOP! Muric keeps the score level! Brereton dribbles down the left, playing a quick one-two with Hamer and poking the ball past Vitinho. He is one-on-one with Muric inside the box and looks for the bottom-right corner, but the goalkeeper rushes off his line to make a good save.

15:19

SAVE! The Blades have another chance to score! McAtee collects the ball on the right side of Burnley's box, switching it onto his left foot before curling a shot towards the goal. It deflects off Taylor and loops to Brereton, but his tame header is saved by Muric.

Sheffield United vs Burnley

15:16

Berge lofts the ball down the left to Taylor, who is in space on the left and has options in the middle. However, he drives his low cross against McAtee, who is helping the Blades defend in a solid shape when Burnley have possession.

15:14

Former Blades midfielder Berge is getting a hostile reception every time he touches the ball for Burnley, with the Belgian trying to dictate the tempo of the Clarets' play. He is getting plenty of time on the ball in the opening stages.

Sheffield United vs Burnley

15:12

United’s McBurnie has been involved in eight goals in his last eight Premier League home games, scoring six and assisting twice. The only game in this run in which he hasn’t registered a goal or assist was in the Blades’ 6-0 defeat to Arsenal last month. He has already caused Burnley plenty of problems with his strength and physicality up front and almost netted the opener just a couple of minutes ago!

Sheffield United vs Burnley

15:10

CHANCE! The Blades have the first opportunity to take the lead! McAtee races down the right, cutting the ball onto his left foot before curling an inviting cross into the middle of the box. McBurnie gets away from his marker and shoots at the goal, but Muric makes himself big to make an important stop at close range.

Sheffield United vs Burnley

15:09

Taylor busts down the left and looks to whip a low cross into the box, but Ahmedhodzic shows some composure to intercept the ball and pass it away under pressure. The Blades look to burst forward on the counter, but Hamer concedes a foul.

Sheffield United vs Burnley

15:07

Grbic is going for a direct approach with his passes, launching the ball up to McBurnie twice already, with the forward dropping deeper to get involved with the play. He is getting the better of the Burnley defenders and combines down the right with Bogle, but the defender is tackled as he rushes forward.

Sheffield United vs Burnley

15:05

The Blades have an early free-kick after McBurnie is pulled to the floor just inside Burnley's half. McAtee chips the ball down the left side of the box to Brereton, who heads it back across into the middle, but the Clarets defence clears it away.

Sheffield United vs Burnley

15:03

It will be interesting to see how the Blades and Burnley approach this battle at the bottom of the table. It might be a cagey start, with neither side wanting to make a mistake that could lead to a massive opening goal. However, both teams must push for a win to try and avoid relegation as a draw at this stage will probably not be enough.

Burnley get this Premier League clash under way. Foster with the first kick.

United have lost just one of their last 20 home league games against Burnley (winning 14 and drawing five), going down 3-2 in December 2008. They’ve won both of their Premier League games against the Clarets at Bramall Lane. Both teams are on the pitch and are ready to get started.

Burnley make two alterations to the team that drew 1-1 with Brighton in their previous match. Muric retains his place after scoring an own goal, with O’Shea returning from a one-game suspension to replace Ekdal. A shuffle in players also means that forward Datro Fofana comes out for Taylor, who appears at left-back. Vitinho pushes up onto the wing, with Foster starting up front alongside Odobert.

The Blades make two changes to the side that lost 2-0 to Brentford in their last Premier League outing. Bogle is fit enough to start again after coming off with an ankle injury against the Bees, moving down to centre-back to replace Holgate, who drops onto the bench. McAtee comes in on the right, with Souza replacing Larouci in the midfield. The Algerian played on the left in the last fixture, meaning Osborn moves out of the middle and over to the wing.

Burnley have had a slight upturn in form and have only lost one of their last six Premier League fixtures, but Vincent Kompany will be thinking his side should have more points on the board after their previous two outings (winning one and losing one). It has been a period to forget for Arijanet Muric, who gifted Dominic Calvert-Lewin the winning goal in a 1-0 loss to fellow strugglers Everton before scoring a calamitous own goal to help Brighton claim a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor, with the Clarets ahead at the time. As a result, Burnley would've been right behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest but are instead six points from safety. A repeat of their 5-0 win over the Blades in the reverse fixture would boost confidence levels. However, anything else would make it difficult for them to escape relegation with just a handful of matches remaining, especially with three of the top seven and Forest left to play.

Sheffield United vs Burnley

14:30

The Blades' winless run in the Premier League extended to eight games after a 2-0 loss to Brentford in previous last outing, with their last victory coming against relegation rivals Luton Town in February. Chris Wilder's men did collect respectable draws against Bournemouth, Fulham and Chelsea. However, they must quickly turn one point into three to stand any chance of climbing off the bottom of the table and avoid an immediate return to the Championship. United are 10 points from safely with just six games remaining and face a Burnley side just four points and one place above them. It's a must-win match for the Blades, who face trips to Manchester United and Newcastle United next.
