Less than six months after the accident that left his Volkswagen Polo GTI written off, controversial Limpopo rapper Shebeshxt, real name Lehlogonolo Chauke, was involved in another accident.

Limpopo transport department spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said the accident that matched the description News24 shared with her happened after 22:00 on Saturday evening in Limpopo's Capricorn District.

She said the accident happened when Shebeshxt's charcoal Volkswagen Polo collided with a heavy motor vehicle and overturned.

A nine-year-old passenger in the Polo sustained fatal injuries while Shebeshxt and another passenger sustained "serious but salvageable life-threatening" injuries.

Per Sunday World, the minor who was travelling with the musician to an ANC Siyanqoba Rally celebration concert was his daughter.

Chuene said the cause of the accident was "under investigation".

News24's attempts to obtain comment from the rapper's management have, thus far, been unsuccessful.

At the beginning of the year, Shebeshxt was involved in a crash that saw his car being written off.

He has also come under fire for alleged reckless driving and not wearing a seatbelt. His allegedly violent temperament has also made him the talk of the town, along with an incident where he pulled a gun from his backpack and flashed it while performing.

The controversial rapper broke out in the music industry with hit single Ke Di Shxt Malume. Since then, he has collaborated with industry greats such as DJ Maphorisa on the 2023 single Twerka.
