As October begins, the South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has reminded social grant beneficiaries of the upcoming payment dates for the various social grants. The October payment schedule will start with the distribution of the Older Person’s Grant on Wednesday, 2 October, followed by the Disability Grant on Thursday, and the Children’s Grant on Friday.
SASSA Payment Schedule for October 2024
SASSA has confirmed the following payment dates for the month of October:
• Older Persons’ Grant: Wednesday, 2 October 2024 • Disability Grant: Thursday, 3 October 2024 • Children’s Grant: Friday, 4 October 2024SASSA has emphasised that there is no need for beneficiaries to rush to withdraw their funds on the first day, as the money will remain secure in their accounts until it is needed.
The agency reiterated its commitment to paying “the right social grant, to the right person, at the right time and place,” a core promise that underlines the importance of efficiency and accuracy in the disbursement of social grants.
Where Can Beneficiaries Access Their Grants?
Beneficiaries have multiple options to access their SASSA payments. The grants can be collected from a range of selected supermarkets and retail stores, including:
• Pick n Pay • Boxer • USave merchants • Checkers • ShopriteBeneficiaries can also access their grants through SASSA payment cards or have the grant transferred directly into their personal bank accounts. These diverse options ensure convenience and accessibility for beneficiaries, who may choose the most suitable method for receiving their payments.
