Royal AM made it back-to-back wins in the DStv Premiership with a thrilling 3-2 victory over Chippa United on Wednesday evening.

Azola Ntsabo and Craig Martin were recalled to Chippa line-up following their win over Cape Town Spurs, as Royal AM gave Mfundo Thikazi a start after being a second-half substitute against TS Galaxy.

With both side grabbing their first win of the campaign over the weekend, the hunt to continue in that vein were laid down as the Chilli Boys looked to avenge last season’s 3-1 defeat in the corresponding fixture.

The Chilli Boys made the perfect start inside the midway point when a lofted shot in the area rolled back into play and saw Martin on hand to rattle the back of the net.

Coach Morgan Mammila was called to introduce a substitution after the half-hour mark, with Ayabulela Magqwaka removed and Shaun Nkwanyana put on the park.

Although, with halftime fast approaching – the visitors were back on level terms as smart bit of play allowed Thikazi to take aim and finish beyond goalkeeper Stanley Nwabili.

Thwihli Thwahla did go ahead for the first time in the match seven minutes after halftime courtesy of a well-taken finish from the veteran Ruzaigh Gamildien at the near post.

The lead didn’t last long though as the home team clawed level when Justice Chabalala managed to get through to Augustine Mulenga’s assist and fired in.

The men from KwaZulu-Natal would have the final say though, as Lesego Manganyi's header in the 66th minute proved to be the winning goal as the Chilli Boys suffer back-to-back home defeats.
