Roma vs. Atalanta: Lineups & Game Thread
While Roma didn't leave Thursday's trip to London to face Spurs in the Europa League with three points in the bag, Claudio Ranieri nevertheless orchestrated the most coherent 90 minutes of football we've seen in several months. Thanks to goals from Evan Ndicka and Mats Hummels, the Giallorossi were able to scratch and claw their way back into the match twice and, were it not for a pair of disallowed goals, may have even left London with a win.
Call it a moral victory if you must, but Roma's performance against Tottenham boosted spirits throughout the Romaverse. However, today's task is arguably much more difficult. They may not boast the same financial resources as the Spurs, but Atalanta is arguably the superior side. Moreover, the Bergamo-based club is on an absolute heater right now, winning 10 of their last 11 matches in all competitions, including a 6-1 thrashing over BSC Young Boys in the Champions League last week.
Anyway you slice it, Roma has their work cut out for them today. The lineups are in, so let's see if Sir Claudio can conjure an upset!
