Roma contact Al Ahli boss Paulo Sousa
Serie A giants Roma could be heading towards another managerial change after the loss to Verona yesterday and a name in the fray is Al Ahli boss Paulo Sousa.
Il Messaggero today write about Ivan Juric’s future, revealing that his position is uncertain and there is no clarity about whether he will stay as manager or not. A decision will have to be made today, because a Europa League game is coming up.
Claudio Ranieri’s name has been spoken about in recent days as a potential interim boss, but the club haven’t made any contact with the Italian. Roberto Mancini could also be a candidate but he would also be a short term fix and contact hasn’t been made for him either.
Sousa has been contacted in recent hours and he has a clause in his Al Ahli contract which allows him to leave immediately if a condition is met.
In the meantime, Roma have categorically denied the possibility of Daniele de Rossi’s return and after his sacking, Edin Terzic was contacted but the move didn’t move forward. It remains to be seen if the German’s name returns to the fray or not and it isn’t known to the outlet as to whether Frank Lampard (whose name has been suggested in England) will be a candiate or not.
