Matthew Ryan comments 'special' Roma debut: "What a moment."

Roma second-choice goal-keeper Matthew Ryan made his first official appearance for the Giallorossi last night.

Having arrived as a free agent in the summer, Ryan had been kept on the bench until last night.

The Australian shot-stopper was fielded from the first minute in place of Mile Svilar as Roma battled Sampdoria in the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia.

After the match, Ryan expressed his delight with this personal milestone.

“A special moment to debut for this great club,” he wrote on Instagram.
