SHARPEVILLE.- Vaal rising young star Relebohile Mofokeng has been nominated for 2024 Gauteng Sport Personality of the Year Finalist.

This Annual Gauteng Sports, Arts, Culture and Recreation’s Sports Star of the Year will be live on SABC 1 in Johannesburg on November 24. These awards are to acknowledge athletes in Gauteng who were outstanding in national and international competitions. Mofokeng is currently the talk of town after his performances for Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana. He has been hailed as an exceptional talent playing South African football at the moment.

This Sharpeville-born wonder kid has been nominated alongside Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana Captain Ronwen Williams in this category. Williams was recently a finalist for FIFA Ballon D’ Or held in Paris, France.

Speaking to Sedibeng Ster Sport, his father Sechaba Mofokeng made a humble plea to the Sedibeng community to vote for his son. Mofokeng senior told Sedibeng Ster Sport that it will be a great honour for the Sedibeng region if his son is voted Gauteng Sports Personality of the Year. No doubt, Mofokeng seems to be a favourite to walk away with this award considering his popularity among local soccer fans, young and old. Everyone in the country is talking about his exceptional skills, which leave many of his markers sprawling on the turf.
