Dundee United proved stern opposition for Philippe Clement and his team at Ibrox, battling their way to a 1-1 draw in Glasgow's southside. The game was delayed in starting by almost an hour due to the horrendous weather and many of a light blue persuasion may have been wishing it hadn't bothered with just over half an hour gone.

Sam Dalby put United in the lead and the punters who braved the conditions let their fury be heard at another lethargic performance from the home side.

Clement responded at the break; on went Ianis Hagi and Danilo and that brought some life into things, the Brazilian turning provider for Vaclav Cerny to equalise with 66 minutes on the clock.

But moments of inspiration were few and far between and it was another disappointing day at the office for Gers. They had some consolation in that it was a point gained on Aberdeen, but it hands Celtic the chance to go move 11 points clear of them tonight.

Stick with us for all the reaction.

3 talking points

Rangers' Vaclav Cerny celebrates scoring to make it 1-1 (Image: SNS Group)

A sore one for Rangers, that.

But an excellent result for an impressively resolute Dundee United team.

A Vaclav Cerny rescue couldn't halt the rising tide of fan fury - here are our three talking points from a big day at Ibrox.

17:58Ross Pilcher

Full-time!

Finished finally at Ibrox, and it;s more droppped points for Rangers.

The pressure will only oncrease on Philippe Clement, and Celtic can now increase their lead at the to of the tablle.

United will be satisfied enough after a long old day even getting to Ibrox.

17:56Ross Pilcher

Save!

Walton again keeps it level.

Igamane takes a touch and thumps it towards goal.

There's plenty of power, but it's close enough to the United keeper and he beats it away.

Igamane then sends a looping effort skywards and irt drops on top of the net rather than in it.

17:49Ross Pilcher

Stopage time

As if this wasn't late enough, EIGHT minutes added on.

17:46Ross Pilcher

Huge save!

How has that not gone in?

Hagi's shot from distance is saved by Walton, but Danilo is first to the rebound.

He squares for Igamane, with propper also trying to turn it home, but it's the striker who gets there first.

However, Walton reacts brilliantly from the deck to throw up a hand and deny a certain winner for the hosts.

A VAr check for a possible penalty is announced, but it;s over before anyone can get excited.

17:43Ross Pilcher

Goal in Paisley

It could be a big one.

Richard Taylor has the Buddies back in ront late on.

17:32Ross Pilcher

Offside

Anther Danilo and cerny combo results in the ball going in.

Cerny dinks it over Walton from a tight angle, but the flag is up.

It's swiftly checked by VAR and the onfield decision rightly stands.

17:31Ross Pilcher

Sub

Another for United.

Kai Fotheringham off, Miller Thomson on.

17:30Ross Pilcher

Save

Danilo and Cerny combining to good effect now and it;s the former who goes close.

Cerny finds his run across the box and he tries to reverse the ball back across Walton, but the United keeper stays big and blocks with his chest before the visitors manage to clear.

It now feels like a second is coming for Gers, who have shown far more urgency since the break and the subs have given them the spark that was missing.

17:26Ross Pilcher

Sub

Rangers make another change after the goal.

Jefte off, Ridvan Yilmaz on fir his first appearnce since facing Dynamo Kyiv back in August.

GOAL!

Rangers' Vacllav Cerny scores to make it 1-1 (Image: SNS Group)

There's the leveller and it's 1-1.

Cerny has looked the most likely and finally he gets his reward.

He plays a little give and go with Danilo, who pops the ball through the defender's legs to put Cerny in on goal.

He stays composed to slot the ball beyond Walton and it's all square at Ibrox.

17:21Ross Pilcher

Sub

First change for United.

David Babunski makes way for Jort Van der Sande.

17:17Ross Pilcher

Wide!

Cerny getting closer.

He collects the ball at the edge of the box after Danilo does well to keep it in play.

The Czech drops a should and moves the ball on to his weaker right foot.

He tries to bend one in the far corner and Walton is beaten, but it flashes narrowly wide of the far post.

Rangers look more threatening but they need one of these to go in.

17:14Ross Pilcher

Big miss

Rangers spurn a great chance to equalise.

Cerny shows great skill on the right as he gets to the byline and cuts back for Danilo.

The Brazilian shows his rustines though, snatching at the strike and sending the wrong side of the far post when anything on target would have surely made it 1-1.

Hagi looking to make things happen but Rangers need better from their front man if they are to get anything from this game.

17:10Ross Pilcher

Goal in Paisley

More bad news for Rangers.

Aberdeen have levelled away at St Mirren and are ten points ahead of the Ibrox club as things stand.

It's Jamie McGrath on target for the Dons.

17:08Ross Pilcher

Big chance!

United should be 2-0 up.

Ryan Strain faces up his man, hits the byline and stands a cross up.

It finds Dalby, again unmarked in the middle of the Rangers box.

Fortunately for them on this occasion, he can;t direct his glancing header on target and Butland can wave it wide with relief.

Clement's team aren't learning lessons here and United will be kicking themselves that they have';t extended their lead.

17:05Ross Pilcher

Restart!

Back underway at Ibrox.

A big 45 minutes for Rangers, who have introduced Danilo and Ianis Hagi in place of Cyriel Dessers and Mohamed Diomande in order to provoke a response.

16:48KEY EVENT

Half-time

An that's the last acion of the half.

Philippe Clement finds himself in a hole here.

Rangers haven't been without their moents, but it's been another laboured display and United looked like they could score again when they get forward.

it's only Sam dalby;s header that separates the sides just now but as things stand, Rangers could be 12 points beihnd Celtic by later on tonight.

16:47Ross Pilcher

GOA-NO

Rangers think they're level but it's chalked off quickly.

Robin Propper arrived to nod home at the back post.

But a handball from Barron in the build up is checked by VAR and they tell the ref to blow his whistle.

0-1 to United it remains as we approach half-time at Ibrox

16:44Ross Pilcher

Big block

Rangers lucky it's still only 0-1.

Dalby holds it up well and sets up Kai Fotheringham.

He takes a good touch and fire goalwards and it looks like it;s in all the way but fir a last ditch block by John Souttar.

Rangers looked spooked when United break and the visitors are playing like a side with something to hold on to here.

You wouldn't bet against them extending their lead on this evidence.

16:35Ross Pilcher

Given

As expected, goal given.

Not sure why it took over two minutes to reach that decision. Dalby looked onside without the need for drawing lines.

16:33KEY EVENT

GOAL!

Dundee United's Sam Dalby scores to make it 1-0 (Image: SNS Group)

1-0 United!

The wait was worth it for the visitors and it;s a simple, simple goal for the Tangeries.

There's no pressure on the ball rom Rangers, allowing Vicko Sevelk all the time in the world to put in a cross from deep.

Sam Dalby is in even more space, and there's no-one anywhere near him to even try and put the big striker off as he plants a heade rinto the far corner beyond Butland from dead centre.

There's a VAR check for offside, but Dalby looks like he's being played on by Jefte.

16:25Ross Pilcher

What a save!

Finger tips from Walton denies Rangers the opener.

Nedim Bajrami shifts the ball out of his feet and curls a great effort towards the far corner.

It's ging in all the way and took Walton at full stretch to just tip it round the far post.

By far the best effort of the game so far and the on loan Luton Town man comes up trumps for the Tangerines.

16:23Ross Pilcher

Goal in Paisley

It's not just Celtic Rangers are chasing.

Unbeaten Aberdeen are also nine points beihd them,

However, they are currently 1-0 down to St Mirren. Could this be a first league defeat for Jimmy Thelin's men?

Rangers will be hoping so, and it wouldn't exactly irk Dundee Utd either.

16:20Ross Pilcher

Saved

Walton saves, this time from Raskin.

It's a better effort than his last one, this time on his weaker foot.

But it lacks the pace or pwoer to trouble the Dundee Utd keeper and he's able to save fair comfortably, although takes no chances and opts to palm away to safety.

16:16Ross Pilcher

Raskin has a pop

Accuracy has not been a strong point so far.

Raskin backs up the play from the middle of the park and picks up on a loose ball just ont he edge of shooting distance.

He has a go but gets it wrong - although a better effort than Babunski's - and the ball sails harmlessly Walton's crossbar.

16:14Ross Pilcher

Babunski balloons it

The former Barcelona man takes a fine touch on his chest on the edge of the area and tries to shoot on the half turn.

However, the North macedonian is well off balance and slices it wildly, sending a tame effort bouncing towards the by kick line as Butland saunters over to collect.

16:11Ross Pilcher

Easy does it

A rare foray forward from United.

Babunski drives from midfield and feeds Dalby, who checks after making a run from the centre.

He lays the ball back to Glenn Middleton, who takes on his man and delivers to the near post.

It's too close to Butland though, who gathers bewfore looking to launch a quick counter.

There's no else else all that interested though and the fans share the keeper's frustration.
