Gallants are plotting a jumpstart in the upcoming season after buying Moroka Swallows’ elite league status. This time around, they are under nomadic coach, Dan Malesela.

In their efforts to assemble a formidable team, they made wholesale changes that include releasing 15 players.

The players include Sbusiso Khumalo, Tshiamo Moshoene, Sanele Kumalo, Themba Ndlovu, Itumeleng Shopane, Lerato Ntemane and George Lata Lloyd.

Sbusiso Phiri, Marvin Skhosana, Tshepo Chaine, Osborn Maluleke, Lucky Motshotsho, Sbusiso Phiri, Tshepo Skhosana and Cyril Nguessan complete the list.

In addition, they acquired the services of former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Phathutshedzo Nange.

Nange was in the books of SuperSport United but had limited game time, leading to his ultimate departure.

They also signed former AmaZulu FC defender Veluyeke Zulu and Zimbabwean sensation Daniel Msendami from Jwaneng Galaxy.

GALLANTS ARE SET TO WELCOME BACK WASHINGTON ARUBI Washington Arubi at Marumo Gallants training

Moreso, they are on the brink of bringing back veteran Zimbabwean goalie Washington Arubi. FARPost sources have revealed that Gallants are keen to have Arubi back in their fold. According to the source, all terms have been agreed, as he is already training with the team.

The 38-year-old veteran PSL goalkeeper is a free agent after leaving SuperSport United. Arubi played second fiddle to Ricardo Goss who was the preferred number one.

Arubi had a fine 2022/23 campaign in Marumo’s colors as they enjoyed a fairytale run in the CAF Confederation Cup.

He was even honoured with the Marumo Gallants’ Chairman’s Award for his sterling efforts at the club.

In truth, Arubi was one of the exceptional players during the season along with striker Ranga Chivaviro. The only blight was their relegation from the topflight on the last day of the season. The hope is high that they will survive in the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
