Arsenal's next five Premier League fixtures compared to Man City ...

Premier League fixtures

Arsenal clinched a 1-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday evening thanks to a crucial goal from substitute Kai Havertz. The north Londoners thought that they had broken the deadlock in the first half when Leandro Trossard headed home from close range.

However, VAR adjudged the diminutive playmaker to have been offside in the build-up to the goal, leaving Gunners supporters hugely frustrated. But Mikel Arteta's side eventually found their way past the Bees thanks to a late header from Havertz, who scored his first open-play goal since joining from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.

The result meant that Arsenal are now top of the table after fellow title challengers Manchester City and Liverpool played out a 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the day. So, with that being said, football.london has taken a look at the Arsenal's upcoming fixtures and compared them with the rest of their title rivals below.

Wolves (H) - December 2

The Gunners start December with a home fixture against Wolves, who currently sit 14th in the league standings. The north Londoners have enjoyed some excellent results against Wolves in recent times, beating them home and away in each of the last two Premier League campaigns.

Luton Town (A) - December 5

The Hatters have struggled to climb the Premier League table this season, but Rob Edwards has proved that teams mustn't underestimate his side. Luton gave Liverpool a run for their money at Kenilworth Road and against Crystal Palace this weekend they picked up their first home win of the season. They'll be keen to catch Arsenal by surprise too.

Aston Villa (A) - December 9

Unai Emery will be determined to pile the misery on his former side. Villa have been a force to be reckoned with this season at Villa Park, so this is expected to be a difficult game for Arsenal.

Brighton (H) - December 17

Another tough game for the Gunners. Roberto De Zerbi's side have suffered a few blips this season but Brighton remain a strong outfit who could challenge for a Champions League qualification place.

Liverpool (A) - December 23

Arsenal then take on title rivals Liverpool at Anfield, a ground that the Gunners haven't secured all three points in the Premier League since back in 2012. Last season, they went 2-0 up on Merseyside before the hosts fought back, with the score ending 2-2.
