If they really want to change that, they'll need to play more in the next four games.

The victory came about thanks to the changes made in the second half. Cristiano Ronaldo's introduction was essential for the Portuguese team to change the way they were playing. Ruben Neves also came on well and gave the midfield the dynamic it needed.

In the first round Scotland had the chance to take advantage of their home advantage and the support of their fans, but they couldn't be effective and came away with a defeat. From the first half they had to chase the score, but their failure to take advantage of the opportunities they had made them pay painfully. Poland scored a late goal in stoppage time, which sealed their home defeat and continued the poor run they are currently on.

In their last outing, Scotland took part in League B, group 1 and managed to finish top of the group with 13 points and with it the right to play in League A. If they don't improve their performance, they run the serious risk of playing in part B of the Nations League again.

The 2-1 win in the first round against Croatia was secured with goals from Dalot and Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Portuguese will be looking to confirm their second place in the group and despite losing to France on penalties in the quarter-finals of the European Championship. They are aiming to extend their winning streak and make it a second in a row in this competition. If they beat Scotland and Poland don't beat Croatia, Portugal would reach six points and could open up a two to three-point gap on second place, with just four games left to play in the Nations League qualifying phase.

In their last appearance in the Nations League, Portugal came second in League A, group 2. They scored ten points, with three wins, one draw and two defeats. The group consisted of Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and the Czech Republic.

Portugal's best performance so far in the Nations League was in 2018, when they reached the final and beat the Dutch team 1-0 to become champions of the first edition of the competition. The winning goal on that occasion was scored by Gonçalo Guedes. It was Cristiano Ronaldo's second title in the national team shirt.

The Portuguese won 2-1 on home soil and will be looking to confirm their second place. Scotland, on the other hand, lost 3-2 and will have to make up for it away from home.

Let's see how these teams get on in this clash!
