Porto drawn in Champions League round of 16 | News
We have been drawn against FC Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League.
The Portuguese side finished runners-up in their group behind Barcelona, level on points with the Catalan club having won four and drawn two of their group games.
It is the fourth time we have drawn against Porto in the competition. In 2006/07 we won 2-0 at home before drawing 0-0 away, while in 2008/09 we were victorious by a 4-0 scoreline before losing 2-0 away from home.
Those ties were in the group stage, and the last time we locked horns was in the round of 16 the following season, when we overturned a 2-1 loss in the first leg with an emphatic 5-0 win at Emirates Stadium to advance.
The round of 16 will be played over four weeks in the spring. The first legs will be February 13-14 or February 20-21 2024, while the return fixtures will be on either March 5-6 or March 12-13.
As a seeded team, we will host the second leg at Emirates Stadium after travelling to the Estadio do Dragao.
