By India Today Sports Desk: Mohammad Nabi's all-round brilliance with both bat and ball helped Afghanistan script their first-ever win over Pakistan in international cricket on Friday, 24th March in the first T20I between both sides.

Nabi picked up two wickets and remained not out on 38 as the all-rounder guided his team to a six-wicket win in a low-scoring affair at the Sharjah Cricket stadium.

Pakistan had won the toss on the day and elected to bat first. They got off to a slow and steady start but the wicket of Mohammad Haris started a collapse for the Pakistan team.

Fazal Farooqi and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman hardly gave away any runs as the wickets kept tumbling for Pakistan at the other end as they went from 17-1 to 65-7.

Imad Wasim was the highest scorer for Pakistan with 18 runs from 32 balls. Nabi came in to pick up the wickets of Faheem Ashraf and Naseem Shah as he ended up with figures of 13 for two.

Zaman Khan and Ihsanullah would then ensure that Pakistan weren't bundled out and played their full quota of overs to register 92 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs.

With a target of 93 to chase, the Afghanistan innings didn't get off to the best of starts as Ihsanullah picked up the wickets of Ibrahim Zadran and Gulbadin Naib in quick succession to leave them reeling at 23 for two.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Karim Janat also fell without making much of an impact to leave Afghanistan at 48 for four in 9.4 overs. Nabi would then come in and stitch together a vital partnership with Najibullah Zadran that helped Afghanistan get home without any further hiccups on the day.

Nabi scored 38 runs off as many balls while Najibullah scored 17 as Afghanistan reached the target in 17.5 overs.
