The pair played out a 1-1 draw at Carrow Road 11 days ago and the Gas certainly had chances to win the game but were also evidently pleased to take the tie back to the Mem where they have started to build some formidable form this season.

Of course, since the first game the fourth round draw has been made and the small matter of a trip to Liverpool awaits tonight's winner which of course would be a dream tie for everyone associated with Bristol Rovers.

First though, they have to overcome the Canaries in front of a sell out crowd that is no doubt going to be rocking.

Stay tuned for build-up, team news, live match updates and post-match reaction.

That's all from us

A real blow that but it evidently wasn't to be. How Bristol Rovers react to this disappointment will be interesting with a return to league action on Saturday against Blackpool.

Goodnight all.

KEY EVENT

Matt Taylor's full verdict

The Bristol Rovers manager cut a disappointed figure speaking post-match. That one will definitely hurt for a while.

Daniel Hargraves

"We're an almost team"

"We're an almost team at the moment aren't we? Almost a save, almost an attacking moment for us. We're an almost team. We can't stay an almost group. Myself as a manager, individually players and collectively as a team. We can't just stay like that for long because we'll underachieve.

"We've only got the league to concentrate on now so we need to pick up some points pretty quickly."

A lot of truth to that.

Daniel Hargraves

Matt Taylor on defeat

"I was so pleased at half-time in terms of our first half performance, where we were in the game, the chances we created, being ahead. And then in the space of probably less than five minutes in the second half it kind of derailed. A switch off for their goal and a little bit of quality for them and they capitalised and then we're looking to get back in a better feeling. With a corner kick ourselves, they counter attack and we end up giving away a penalty.

"In such a short space of time, all that hard work and effort we've put in for a good performance all of a sudden turned into a difficult second half. Then we were chasing the game against a quality team. We had a quite good chance with Chris hitting towards the back post to get us back level but we were always going to be open to counter attacks. "

FTKEY EVENT

Full-time

That's it. The dream is over but plenty of Gasheads are still here to applaud their side. Reaction to follow.

90+1Daniel Hargraves

Seven minutes added time

Some believe. Some are headed for the exits.

KEY EVENT

Norwich put it beyond doubt

Kenny McLean with an outrageous strike. Home fans chant, "the referee's a w***er" for his play in the build up that saw Rovers lose possession.

Daniel Hargraves

Attacking change from the Gas

Sam Finley and Aaron Collins off. John Marquis and Scott Sinclair on.

Daniel Hargraves

Josh Grant has gone into midfield

Jack Hunt coming on has certainly seen the shape change with Grant going into midfield and Thomas further forward.

Daniel Hargraves

Ashley Barnes has a go

The Bath-born striker has come on and has an effort that goes just wide.

Daniel Hargraves

That was the chance

Rovers work it brilliantly as Martin is found unmarked at the back post but George Long makes himself big and gets a touch to deny an equaliser.

Daniel Hargraves

First change

Luke McCormick off, Jack Hunt on. Change of formation.

Daniel Hargraves

Collins forces a save

Tight angle. Did well in fairness, winning a corner.

Daniel Hargraves

I'm not sure what David Wagner said at half-time but it worked

Norwich look, funnily enough, like a Championship side now. Winning the ball back constantly and getting in behind. Rovers definitely shook.

64Daniel Hargraves

Save from Cox

Important outstretch of the leg from Cox. Rovers need to snap back into gear. Those two goals have knocked them completely.

KEY EVENT

Goal. Norwich take the lead

Adam Idah converts from the spot. Cox almost got a hand on it.

Daniel Hargraves

Norwich penalty

That's a harsh decision in the first instance. The ball always looked like it was going to be collected by Cox but a trip in the area sees the referee point to the spot.

54Daniel Hargraves

The fans are still playing their part

The goal has flattened the atmosphere from the home side who know they have to keep playing their part.

53KEY EVENT

Norwich equaliser

Gabriel Sara almost scores a cracker which hits the post but he's there to tap home the rebound.

52Daniel Hargraves

What a challenge

Connor Taylor gets a limb on the ball as Adam Idah goes through one-on-one. Corner Norwich.

48Daniel Hargraves

Thomas forces a save

Pretty straightfoward save for the Norwich 'keeper but the rebound almost fell to Collins.

46Daniel Hargraves

Early corner for the Gas

Good work from Chris Martin there who snuck in behind the defence.

46Daniel Hargraves

Second half begins

Bristol Rovers now kicking towards a deafening Thatcher's End. That second goal will be crucial.

HTDaniel Hargraves

Half-time: 1-0 Bristol Rovers

So far, so good. Can't help but feel the Gas need a second goal to ease things.

45+2Daniel Hargraves

Guilt-edge chance for Thomas to make it two

Has to score there. Collins cuts back to McCormick who lets it roll to an unmarked Thomas but his effort goes just wide.

45+1Daniel Hargraves

Three minutes added on

Rovers have to hold their own here.

42Daniel Hargraves

Sam Finley booked

Not quite sure for what there. Could well have been dissent.

40Daniel Hargraves

Norwich growing

The visitors have seen more of the ball and getting into the Gas' final third more frequently as they push for an equaliser before half-time but so far, so good from a defensive perspective.

36Daniel Hargraves

First save from Cox

The goalkeeper had to get a hand to a dipping Sara strike.

30Daniel Hargraves

Good chance for Adam Idah

Sara floats in a lovely ball and all the striker has to do is volley it on target and it would've surely been a goal. Not quite sure which part of his foot it hits but it goes awkwardly wide.

I think that's now four good chances the striker has missed across the two games so far.
