Netherlands vs Germany: Live stream, game time thread, how to watch

Netherlands vs Germany

38’ — GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Undav makes it 1-1!

2’ — Goal. What the hell was that. Germany are 1-0 down already.

Kickoff: We’re underway!

One hour until kickoff: We have lineups! Seems like Julian Nagelsmann has chosen Deniz Undav to replace the injured Niclas Füllkrug in the starting XI, otherwise the lineup remains unchanged from the one that beat Hungary 5-0.

Germany are back to being good again, but is that good enough to beat anyone decent? Well, if they can beat the Netherlands tonight, it would go a long way towards putting all doubts to bed.

Julian Nagelsmann seems to have cracked the code, which apparently involves limiting the Bayern Munich influence on his squad as much as possible. Sure, Jamal Musiala still exists, and Joshua Kimmich is still the captain — but two starters and four players total is a far cry from the 2014 World Cup winning squad. Still, if the good performances in this “new era” continue, no one will complain. It’s been a long time since the Germans were actually good.

In case you missed it, France Football left Jamal Musiala out of their Ballon d’Or top 30, which has sparked anger among the Bayern Munich fanbase and executives alike. If you want to know why it’s such a big deal, we covered it in our newest podcast episode, alongside a discussion about Florian Wirtz vs Paul Wanner and whom Bayern Munich should get first. Here at BFW we celebrate every goal like they do in the stadium: with a chant. The goal chants are for everyone to participate in! Even if you’re lagging behind the others, keep replying to the most recent call of the player’s name. Even if you missed the first call, just start from the second, and so on.
