SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — Rapper YoungBoy Never Broke Again, also known as NBA Youngboy or YB, will enter a guilty plea to one count of possession of firearms by a convicted felon. The case was transferred from the Middle District of Louisiana to the District of Utah on Friday.

2News obtained court documents that shows NBA Youngboy, whose real name is Kentrell D. Gaulden, signed a "consent and transfer of case for plea and sentence document."

The document signed says, "I wish to plead guilty to the offense charged, to consent to the disposition of the case in the District of Utah in which I am present, and to waive trial in the above captioned district." The document was signed on Wednesday, August 14.

Gaulden is charged with a count of possession of firearms by a convicted felon stemming from a 2020 music video shoot in Baton Rouge. He was arrested in September 2020, where he and other men are accused of waiving firearms while shooting the music video.

Gaulden's unregistered firearms charged stemming from the same incident was dismissed. More than 1,800 pages of case documentation were transferred to the District of Utah. He was previously granted a request to live in Utah, while his case in Baton Rouge played out.Gaulden must agree to continue with the guilty plea once the federal case is transferred to Utah or else it will be transferred back to the Middle District of Louisiana.

Meanwhile in Utah, Gaulden was arrested back in April, 2024 on allegations stemming from a prescription fraud ring with ongoing cases in Cache County and Weber County. At one point, nearly 63 charges were being brought against Gaulden from Cache County; another three charged were filed by Weber County on April 26, 2024 —possession of a firearm by a restricted person felony charge and two counts of fraudulently obtaining a prescription.

Gaulden remains in the Weber County Jail on the previously outlined cases; but also due to a traffic infraction from back in March. According to court documents, Gaulden has refused on multiple occasions to appear in justice court via video call from the Weber County Jail. He has an outstanding cash bail of $175 from the traffic infraction with a scheduled appearance for Thursday, August 22.

Related to the firearm and prescription cases, Gaulden has another hearing scheduled for August 29 in Weber County and a continued arraignment in Cache County on September 23.
