Enea Bastianini has claimed victory in the sprint race at Silverstone on British Grand Prix weekend - his first of 2024 across any format.
Aleix Espargaro had finished ahead of Franceso 'Pecco' Bagnaia in qualifying earlier on Saturday to secure pole position, but Jorge Martin was the man who made a fantastic start to take the early lead.
Championship leader Bagnaia then suffered a disaster just before the halfway point, crashing out. Shortly after, Bastianini impressively snatched the lead from Martin.
Marc Marquez, who was in fourth spot, then hit the gravel - the fourth rider of the race to crash out, though the first to get back on the bike.
He was well and truly out of the points, though, meaning Bastianini moved ahead of the Spanish icon in the championship standings as he held on for his win.
