The uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party in Gauteng has distanced itself from a woman who tried to sign the IEC's code of conduct at an event in Kempton Park.

The party's Gauteng elections coordinator, Mzukisi Ronyuza, told News24 the agreement was that its Gauteng convener, Theophilus Nkani, would sign the pledge.

But a woman, who had been at the event for the duration of the ceremony, then made her way to the stage to sign the document. The moment was captured on video.
