Men's 100m final

The men's 100m sprint final will take on Sunday night as the Paris Olympics enters its final week.

The race is seen as one of the showpiece events of the games and Team GB will be aiming for a medal as Great Britain’s Zharnel Hughes and Louie Hinchliffe are both still in the mix after qualifying for the semi-finals.

The three semi-finals take place at the Saint Denis stadium between 7pm and 7.30pm on Sunday evening, shortly before the final.

Jamaica's Kishane Thompson is the heavy favourite to take gold alongside the USA's Noah Lyles.

Hughes’ leading turn on the Netflix documentary Sprint has turbocharged the profile of the world 100m bronze medallist. And Hinchliffe raised eyebrows following the heats on Saturday morning as he clocked 9.98 seconds to take an impressive victory over Lyles.

On Saturday night St Lucia’s Julien Alfred stormed to 100m gold in the women's final. Britain’s Daryll Neita narrowly missed out on a medal finishing fourth.

This year, the Olympics runs from July 26 to August 11, meaning there are more than two weeks of sports screenings to get behind (with Team GB hopefully included in your rallying behind). As usual, a number of events will be screened across the BBC - whilst the schedule will be further rolled out through streaming platform Discovery+.

The men's 100m final takes place at 8.50pm on Sunday night. It will be broadcast live on BBC One.
