Nothing compares to the anticipation and heart-pounding action of the 100m, and we’ve got a stacked field of contenders for this marquee Sunday race.

Noah Lyles believes that no one can beat Noah Lyles, as he might say, but the reality is that the men’s field includes a handful of runners with personal bests of 9.82 or faster.

Join me as I break down the race and give my best Olympic Men's 100m Final prediction below.

Men's 100m Final prediction

My best betOblique Seville to win a medal (+160)

My analysisThe 100m final has been billed as a head-to-head battle between Kishane Thompson and Noah Lyles — and Lyles’ underwhelming performance in the first heat significantly shortened the odds on Thompson racing away with the gold medal.

I like Thompson as the 100m champion, but I’m looking elsewhere for my best bet, with a wide-open chasing pack dreaming of their moment.

Oblique Seville is flying a little under the radar with Thompson leapfrogging him as the Jamaican sprint king, but he’s a proven threat and he’s got the GOAT Usain Bolt in his corner as well as highly touted coach Glen Mills.

Seville just missed out on the podium at the World Championships in 2021 and 2023, but he ran an impressive 9.82 in the Jamaican trials, finishing second to Thompson.

He posted that same time as he won the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston on June 1, pushing Lyles into second place and making his case as a podium contender. Write him off at your peril.

Seville was in a good rhythm as he ran 9.99 in the first round on Saturday in Paris, and he’s a man to watch heading into the business end of this event.

There’s more left in the tank for the 23-year-old and, while the spotlight may not be shining as brightly on him, Seville only has to finish in the top three to cash in this prop. His recent times suggest that’s well within reach, and he’ll surely believe he can crash the party for gold or silver.

Make no mistake, this is a stacked field with very little margin for error. But, after a few near misses, Seville has the big-race experience under his belt to be in among the medals and take his place on the podium on Sunday.
